BALTIMORE- Fan favorite J.B. Mauney took the lead after two rounds of the Baltimore Invitational presented by Cooper Tires Friday night. Mauney won Round 1 with an 90-point ride on Play Harder (Boyd/Floyd Bull Company), then finished third in Round 2, posting an 87.25-point ride on Hee Bee Gee Bee (Boyd/Floyd Bull Company). He enters the second day of competition 0.5 points ahead of newcomer Dakota Beck.

Beck stayed on Lucky 7 (K-C Bucking Bulls/Folds/Strickland) in Round 1, receiving 87.25 points. He then won Round 2 after riding Bad Blake (Jeff Robinson/Wolf Creek Cattle) for 89.5 points. Third in the average after two rounds is Stormy Wing, who is on the bubble for the cut after this weekend. Wing covered Carolina Kicker (Gold Spur Ranch) in Round 1 for 85.75 points, followed by an 87.5-point ride on Gypsy Boots (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) in Round 2.



"Cherokee Kid" Ryan Dirteater finished Day 1 fourth overall, having stayed on Congo (4 C's Bucking Bulls) in Round 1 for 85.75 points. He then rode Hammered (McManus/Shoemaker/White) in Round 2, receiving 87 points. Rounding out the Top 5 after two rounds was former World Champion Mike Lee, who covered Come Back (Gold Spur Ranch) for 87.5 points followed by 82.75 points on PFI's Boot Daddy (Jane Clak/Owen/Showsports).

The final day of the Baltimore Invitational presented by Cooper Tires begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the 1st Mariner Arena box office, www.Ticketmaster.com, and by telephone at (800) 745-3500.

Each of the 40 riders will ride in Round 3 on Saturday. Following Round 3, the riders with the 10 highest cumulative scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round where they will compete with one more bull. The overall event winner will be the rider with the highest combined score from all four rounds.

Baltimore is the fifth stop on the BFTS, which opened the 2012 season on Jan. 6-8 with capacity crowds at Madison Square Garden in New York. The BFTS will make 28 stops in 23 states before the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 24-28. The World Finals are where the PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the coveted championship buckle and a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total purse of more than $2 million.

The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network, NBC, NBC Sports Network, and YouTube.
